Acts 20:35

"In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: "It is more blessed to give than to receive."

A Miracle is Needed to STOP the Suffering!

It isn't that no one knew it was bad, but when we see the pictures, the reality hits and we feel helpless.  As orphanages go, the one they were in was okay.  The caretakers did their best with what they had.  They cared about the children and cared for them.  They accepted help from charities who provided food, medical care and other necessities.  Then the government decided the children who were in their cribs all day needed to move.  They moved them far away to an orphanage whose director believes they have no worth.  The director refuses to accept any assistance from charities, who have offered, because they say they don't need it.  They don't need it???  This is the result!

This beauty was moved with the other children from the okay place where they cared and tried their best to a place full of silence, neglect and abuse.  She is being starved to death because the director won't accept assistance.  STARVED TO DEATH!!!!!

This is a child and she is among many in the same place.  For her, adoption is not an option.  She has aged out of that option.  However, I know two amazing families who will be traveling to this orphanage this year to rescue three children from this horrible place.  The urgency is clear!

We can't stand idly by and allow this to continue to happen.  EVERYONE can do something!  Pray for these children that they do not continue to suffer.  Even more so, pray for the director of this orphanage.  Pray that hearts will be touched and there will be realization that these children are worthy of love and attention...and FOOD!

If you are in a position to do so, please donate to either of both of these families as they prepare to travel to rescue these children and show them the love they so desperately deserve.  Every donation helps them to get closer to their goal.

The Bloom Family is adopting four children.  Lee is in this terrible place.  They will be traveling in October.  Please consider a donation.  The Bloom Family  All donations are tax deductible.

The McQuinn Family is also adopting four children.  Two, Phoenix and Denzel (yes, the Denzel I have talked about for a long time) are in this horrible orphanage.  They will travel in November.  Please consider a donation The McQuinn Family all donations are tax deductible

These children need to be rescued.  There are so many more like them around the world.  Please consider what you will do to help.

Bringing Light to ACC to honor my Beautiful Girl's Birthday!

Today our daughter turns 18 years old.  This child is a miracle for all intents and purposes. Her first family was told she would not survive delivery and if she did, she would be unable to breathe or eat on her own.  No matter what, she would not survive past early childhood.  Imagine their surprise when a beautiful, blonde hair, blue eyed baby was born...breathing, eating, crying, sleeping...all the things typical babies do when they are born.  Oh yes, she did have a few things going on but those things would not stop her.

Today I want to honor her on her birthday.  I want to let people know that her diagnosis does not define her.  The words can be scary...Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum and Hydrocephalus.  What does this mean?  How will it affect a child?  The answer isn't easy and it isn't the same for everyone.

It can be scary, especially when more diagnoses are added to one that already sounds overwhelming.

These children have the same, or similar diagnosis as our beautiful girl.  They are just as deserving of a family as she was and I hope you take the time to consider what you can do, what you WILL do to help a family be reality for even just one of these blessings.  Will you chose one or more of these children and pray for them?  Pray for their family?  Share them on your Facebook timeline or Twitter page?  Will you donate to their adoption grant?  Will you step forward and call them your own?

All of these beautiful children live in orphanages around the world.  Most, if not all, have never known the love of a family.  Please consider giving them a chance.  The future is not bright for them if they stay where they are now.  If a family does not choose them, does not come for them, they will eventually be transferred to an adult mental institution (some as young as five years old) where they will survive as long as they can.
Please help their families find them!

Don't be afraid...he is your son!

I'm sitting in the hospital with our "Dude" for the third admission this year.  As I massage his arms & legs, tight from the CP that has a grip on him, he smiles and lights up the room.  He hasn't been well this year yet he still rocks our world.

Dude and I are talking about Denzel.  He reminds me so much of Ollie, with a smile that lights up a room.

The biggest difference between these boys...a loving family.  Dude has a Mama and Papa to massage his aching joints, to take him to the doctor when he is sick, to hold him when he needs some love.

Denzel has no one.  His hands are bound so he doesn't pull out the tube that feeds him, he lays in a crib all day, every day.  He doesn't bother to cry because no one will come.  He, as well as the others in his room, are changed and fed on a schedule.  The last I heard, the director of his orphanage doesn't think there is a need for music or toys for the children in that room.  She has no idea what they are capable of if given the chance.

Denzel is available for international adoption.  Many are willing to step forward and fundraise or contribute to the cost of his adoption.  All his parents need to do is take that leap of faith.  He will rock your world and teach you things you never expect.  Don't be afraid.  Denzel is waiting for you.  The diagnosis do not tell who he is.  Despite his history, his smiles still light up the room.  I can only imagine what an amazing blessing he will be to his family.

Step out in faith Mama & Papa.  You will not be disappointed.  It is okay to be afraid.  Don't let your fears keep you from this amazing son.

Cruise Vacation Fundraiser for Denzel

I have been generously gifted a Four Night Cruise for Two that is to be used to fundraise for the grant of a child who is very dear to my heart.  Denzel has only until January 2017 for his family to find him and commit to him.  Fundraising for his adoption grant helps those who may consider adopting him with the burden of the cost of his adoption.

This vacation is in the form of a Certificate.  Once the winner is chosen, they will have until May 30, 2016 to fill out the certificate and mail it in to the processing center.  Once the information is received, the winner will receive information regarding what cruises are available and will have 18 months to book and complete the trip.  The winner will be responsible for taxes and port fees.  There is also a $19 per person registration fee. If the winner chooses, they can upgrade to larger room or longer cruise, at their own expense.  Several cruise lines participate, including, but not limited to Royal Caribbean and Carnival.  This program is run thru a company called Pacific Coast Travel, which you can look up online for more information.

Here is how it works...For each donation of $10 or more  to Denzel's adoption grant, you will receive one entry in the drawing (ie:  $10 one entry, $50 five entries).  For every share of this blog, the Facebook posting or Tweet of this blog in addition to a donation, you will receive one additional entry.  Please email receipts for your donations to specialorphancheerleader@gmail.com.  Please leave a message on this blog or on the Facebook posting if you have shared so your shares are given credit as well.

I pray we will be able to grow Denzel's grant significantly thru this fundraiser.  Please share!

I have scheduled the drawing for this trip on May 1, 2016.  Please share, donate, share and pray!

World Down Syndrome Day 2016

Today is World Down Syndrome Day. March 21 (3/21) represents the triplicate 21st Chromosome, which is the marker of Down Syndrome.

In honor of World Down Syndrome Day, and to encourage you to consider adding an incredible blessing to your life, I present to you Hugh!  This gorgeous two year old has that little extra something that makes him incredibly adorable.

HUGH

Please consider Hugh or any other child that is waiting for a family to love them forever.

Reece's Rainbow Waiting Children

Children with Down Syndrome around the world are not all treated the same.  Many spend their lives in orphanages or institutions.  They need the love of a family so they can reach their potential...

Consider adoption.  If you are not in a place to adopt, consider choosing a waiting child and donate to their adoption grant fund to help make it a bit easier for a family to commit.  Please pray for these children that their families will find them and show them the love of a family!

Help Denzel find his happy ending!

Oh yes, it's me again...talking about this gorgeous boy!  I can't and won't stop.  The thought of this boy aging out without a family brings me to tears.

Someone who sees him, someone who passes this on, someone who reads it in their feed...they are his family!

I have not met him but I have talked to people who have.  I do not know all the specifics of his situation but I know enough to have a good idea of the kind of son he will be.  This boy smiles, giggles, and smiles some more.  Despite the place where he lives, despite the fact he gets so little human touch; he smiles.  This isn't just any smile, its a smile to light up a room, to light up a Mama's heart.

Is this boy YOUR son???

I get it, everyone isn't meant to adopt.  But EVERYONE can do something!  Pray for this boy...not just now, every day!  Pray for his family that they will quickly realize he is their son.  If you feel lead, donate to his adoption fund.  Sometimes the family that is meant to be right for a child is overwhelmed by the costs.  If that burden can be lifted, or lightened, they can easily step forward.  SHARE...Facebook, Twitter, Email, word of mouth...whatever method works best for you.  You may think you are positive you know no one who would be interested.  Perhaps you are right.  However, someone you know may know someone who is interested.  You pass it on then a few of your friends pass it on...soon his family sees his picture and falls in love.  Don't let the opportunity pass to help an orphan find a home.

This IS a matter of LIFE or DEATH!  Come January 2017 this boy will either have the family he has waited for his entire life or he will live out the rest of his life in a crib in a mental institution.  Please help find his family so his story will have a happy ending!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEET BOY!

It's his 15th Birthday!  It should be a time for celebration...cake, gifts, loved ones all around.  That's how we envision birthdays.  However, for this beautiful boy, it is just another day, lying in a crib, arms tied so he doesn't remove the tube that gives him the food he needs to survive.

This is the last birthday he will have where is is an orphan, waiting for his family to find him.  This year, 2016 MUST be the year of miracles for this boy.  His family must find him, must go for him, must take that leap of faith. He smiles and waits...waits for his Mama and Papa to come to him, to hug him, to kiss him, to love him!

Won't you help his family find him?

Happy Birthday Sweet Boy!  I pray your family comes for you very soon!
