I'm sitting in the hospital with our "Dude" for the third admission this year. As I massage his arms & legs, tight from the CP that has a grip on him, he smiles and lights up the room. He hasn't been well this year yet he still rocks our world.
Dude and I are talking about Denzel. He reminds me so much of Ollie, with a smile that lights up a room.
The biggest difference between these boys...a loving family. Dude has a Mama and Papa to massage his aching joints, to take him to the doctor when he is sick, to hold him when he needs some love.
Denzel has no one. His hands are bound so he doesn't pull out the tube that feeds him, he lays in a crib all day, every day. He doesn't bother to cry because no one will come. He, as well as the others in his room, are changed and fed on a schedule. The last I heard, the director of his orphanage doesn't think there is a need for music or toys for the children in that room. She has no idea what they are capable of if given the chance.
Denzel is available for international adoption. Many are willing to step forward and fundraise or contribute to the cost of his adoption. All his parents need to do is take that leap of faith. He will rock your world and teach you things you never expect. Don't be afraid. Denzel is waiting for you. The diagnosis do not tell who he is. Despite his history, his smiles still light up the room. I can only imagine what an amazing blessing he will be to his family.
Step out in faith Mama & Papa. You will not be disappointed. It is okay to be afraid. Don't let your fears keep you from this amazing son.
